The Indian government approved 27 major companies, including Dell, HP, Foxconn, and Lenovo, under the new production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that 95% of these companies are set for immediate manufacturing, marking a significant stride in India’s bid to become a global hub for advanced technology production. The approved firms, investing a total of Rs 3,000 crore, signal India’s commitment to fostering a robust ecosystem for manufacturing PCs, servers, laptops, and tablets, enticing international players like Dell, Foxconn, HP, and Lenovo to contribute to the country’s technological growth.
