India’s Rinku Hooda and Ajeet Singh were awarded silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s F46 javelin throw event after a successful protest against Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Priyantha Herath, who was disqualified for being ineligible to compete in the category. Originally finishing third and fourth, Rinku and Ajeet were upgraded following the decision. India’s medal tally now stands at 14 (5 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze), marking its best-ever performance at the World Para Athletics Championships and surpassing its previous record of 10 medals in 2023.
