Negotiations between India and the United Kingdom for a free trade agreement are in an advanced stage, according to Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal. He emphasized that India wants to protect its interests and ensure commercial gains while safeguarding the interests of farmers and goods covered under the production-linked incentive scheme. The timeline for concluding the trade talks has not been specified. The 14th round of talks between India and the UK started on January 10. Additionally, the seventh round of talks on the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement is scheduled to take place in Delhi from February 19 to 23.
