The share of Indian mutual funds in companies listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) surged to 8.92% by March 2024, driven by strong net inflows of around $10 billion. LIC, India’s largest institutional investor, also bolstered its holdings, influencing the overall market share. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) reached a record high of 16.05%, surpassing Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) for the first time in 11 years. This shift signifies a trend towards self-reliance in the Indian stock market, with DIIs increasingly shaping investment patterns.
