India’s oil demand is forecasted to grow in the next two quarters, with diesel driving the increase due to agricultural, construction, and manufacturing activities. Traditional festivities and air travel recovery are also expected to boost petrol and jet or kerosene demand, according to OPEC. Despite a notable decline in crude oil imports in February, product imports, especially LPG, saw a significant increase. However, year-on-year, product imports experienced a decrease. On the other hand, India’s export of petroleum products showed a significant recovery, surging by 18%.
