The condition of a female elephant, believed to have been struck by a train near Kottekkad in Palakkad Forest Division, worsens. Forest veterinarians attended to the approximately 35-year-old elephant, which was found limping, but its condition remains serious. Suspected to have been part of a herd crossing the railway tracks, the elephant’s injuries are presumed to be from the train collision.
