Former Pakistan cricket captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has stepped down from his role as chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following allegations of a conflict of interest. Reports in Pakistani media highlighted his association with a U.K.-based company, Yazoo International Ltd, whose co-director is also the managing director of Saya Corporation, an agency representing prominent Pakistani cricketers, including captain Babar Azam, bowler Shaheen Afridi, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan. Rizwan is also a director at Yazoo. In response to the allegations, Inzamam stated his willingness to undergo a transparent inquiry. The PCB has established a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate the matter, which emerged during Pakistan’s challenging World Cup campaign. The team has experienced a series of defeats, marking its worst losing streak in the tournament’s history.
