Tehran has announced a 15-day visa-free policy for Indian tourists visiting Iran. Under this new policy, Indian citizens can enter Iran with ordinary passports once every six months for a maximum stay of 15 days, and the stay cannot be extended. The visa-free access applies to individuals entering Iran for tourism purposes through the air border. However, for longer stays or multiple entries within a six-month period, other types of visas must be obtained through the respective representations of Iran in India. Iran joins other countries like Vietnam, Thailand, and Sri Lanka in easing visa rules for Indian tourists in recent months.
