The Jharkhand High Court directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to respond to former Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s bail plea. Soren, arrested on January 31 in a money-laundering case linked to a land scam, cited political conspiracy. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal represented him, claiming no evidence implicates Soren. The court set June 10 for the next hearing. Soren argued that the land in question belonged to another individual, not him. Despite previous Supreme Court scrutiny over suppression of facts, the High Court seeks ED’s reply on Soren’s plea.
