The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has ruled against Kerala Matrimony, a private matrimony site, for deceptive advertising and inadequate service provision. The commission found the company guilty of engaging in unfair trade practices by failing to deliver promised services to a complainant who had registered with them. Despite claims made in advertisements, the company could not substantiate fulfilling its obligations. The commission, led by President D.B. Binu and members Sreevidhia T.N. and V. Ramachandran, ordered Kerala Matrimony to reimburse the complainant’s ₹4,100 registration fee, along with ₹25,000 in compensation and ₹3,000 for legal costs.
