The Ministry of Labour and Employment in India successfully avoided 50 national-level strikes through its tripartite conciliation processes last fiscal year. This approach, involving officials, unions, and employers, led to agreements benefiting over 55,000 employees in sectors like PSUs and banks. Notably, settlements included a Rs. 700 crore wage deal for cement workers and Rs. 298.3 crore relief for Gramin Bank employees. By resolving disputes amicably, including eight strikes from January to June 2024, the ministry saved substantial man-days and upheld productivity.
