Lacoste, the iconic brand recognized by its crocodile logo, considers India its fastest-growing market in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. While specific growth figures were not disclosed, Marcus Meyer, Lacoste’s CEO for APAC, sees ample room for expansion in India. The rising purchasing power of Indian consumers and their increasing disposable incomes are contributing to this growth. Forecasts suggest India’s retail market could reach $2.3 trillion by 2032, offering substantial growth opportunities. Currently operating 42 exclusive stores in 17 cities, Lacoste plans to extend its presence to 28-29 cities and expand product offerings beyond its signature polo shirts to tap into India’s growing retail potential. Despite increased competition, the brand remains optimistic about its future in India.
