South Korea’s LG Energy Solution, a major supplier of battery cells to electric scooter manufacturers in India, is looking to increase its footprint in the country’s passenger vehicle market. The company, which globally provides batteries to automakers like Tesla and Hyundai, is actively seeking partnerships with Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers to capitalize on the growing demand in one of the world’s fastest-growing car markets. While LG Energy did not disclose specific companies it is in talks with, the move aligns with India’s push for greater EV adoption and domestic manufacturing. LG Energy currently dominates the supply of battery cells to Indian e-scooter makers, including Ola Electric and TVS.
