The Madras High Court has instructed the counsel for the Election Commission of India (ECI) to furnish the final order issued by the Supreme Court in a case concerning pre-certification of poll advertisements. In 2004, the Supreme Court issued an interim order stipulating that decisions made by State-level Media Certification and Monitoring Committees could only be challenged before the apex court. The bench, led by Chief Justice Sanjay V. Gangapurwala and Justice J. Sathya Narayana Prasad, supported the request, emphasizing that interim orders lose relevance after the final verdict.
