Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde disclosed his rebellion against the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena stemmed from the perceived compromise of Bal Thackeray’s ideology. Speaking at a party meeting in Ramtek, Nagpur, Shinde asserted his reluctance to assume the Chief Ministerial role but felt compelled to rebel upon witnessing the departure from Bal Thackeray’s principles. Shinde’s break from the Shiv Sena in June 2022 led to the formation of a government with BJP support.
