Former West Indies batter Marlon Samuels has been slapped with a six-year ban from all cricket forms for breaching the Emirates Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code during the Abu Dhabi T10 league in 2019. The International Cricket Council (ICC) found Samuels guilty on four counts, including failing to disclose benefits, not cooperating with investigators, and obstructing the anti-corruption official’s inquiry. The ban, effective since November 11, serves as a deterrent, said Alex Marshall, ICC General Manager. Samuels, who played for almost two decades and scored over 11,000 runs, had a prior two-year ban in 2008 for similar reasons.
