Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma invited Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma to discuss the matter over a meal in Guwahati. Both leaders expressed their commitment to collective efforts for resolving the border dispute and maintaining peace along the borders during ongoing discussions. The border dispute, rooted in historical demarcations, had escalated in July 2021, resulting in a tragic exchange of fire between police forces from both states, leading to casualties.
