The death toll from landslides in Mizoram rose to 29 after the discovery of a 34-year-old woman’s body in the Tlawng River. The woman, Vanlalruali, had been missing since a landslide in Aibawk village on Tuesday. Her body was found in Hortoki village in Kolasib district on Friday. Search efforts continue for five other missing individuals, including Vanlalruali’s husband. The landslides, occurring amid heavy rainfall from Cyclone Remal, claimed the lives of 21 locals and eight migrants. Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced a compensation of ₹4 lakh for each victim’s family and allocated ₹15 crore to address disaster-related challenges.
