In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA aimed for a 25% vote share in Tamil Nadu but fell short, securing 18.27% without Dravidian party support. The alliance performed best in Southern Tamil Nadu, led by Pon. Radhakrishnan’s strong showing in Kanniyakumari. Tirunelveli and Ramanathapuram also saw significant support. However, Madurai marked a surprise with the BJP surpassing AIADMK. Chennai showed a promising turnout for the NDA, especially in Chennai South. Northern Tamil Nadu, where PMK’s influence is strong, saw subpar performance despite alliance hopes. Western Tamil Nadu showed promise in Coimbatore and Dharmapuri but lacked cohesion elsewhere.
