India and Nepal, during the India-Nepal Inter-Governmental Sub-Committee (IGSC) on Trade, Transit, and Cooperation to Combat Unauthorised Trade, expressed a commitment to implementing bilateral initiatives to enhance cross-border connectivity. The discussions focused on constructing new Integrated Check Posts and railway links to strengthen seamless connectivity. The agenda also covered the review of the Treaty of Transit and the Treaty of Trade, proposed amendments to existing agreements, strategies for enhancing investment, and the harmonisation of standards. These initiatives aim to fortify economic and commercial linkages between the two countries, with India remaining a principal trade and investment partner for Nepal.
