Pakistan and China have launched a new air cargo route to bolster trade relations between the two countries, just ahead of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to Beijing. The route, inaugurated on May 28, connects Guizhou, China, with Karachi, Pakistan. The inaugural flight carried six tonnes of freight, including clothing and electronics, from Guiyang to Karachi, with plans for return trips carrying Pakistani blue crabs. Operated three times a week, the route signifies the first direct link between Guizhou and Pakistan and strengthens ties between the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries.
