NHPC, a state-run hydro power giant, has secured a 200 MW solar project at Gujarat State Electricity Corporation’s renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat. The project, acquired through an e-reverse auction by GUVNL, will operate at a tariff of Rs 2.66 per unit and is expected to be completed in 18 months. NHPC estimates a generation of 473 million units in the first year and 10,850 million units over 25 years, with a tentative development cost of around Rs 847 crore.
