In response to the confirmed bird flu outbreak in Alappuzha, Kerala, the Nilgiris has banned the entry of all poultry and poultry products from Kerala and Karnataka. Measures have been put in place at eight interstate border checkposts to prevent the transportation of poultry into the region. The ban aims to mitigate the risk of the bird flu spreading further and safeguard public health in the Nilgiris.
