NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) has inked an MoU with the Maharashtra government to develop green hydrogen projects, including derivatives like green ammonia and green methanol. The collaboration aligns with the state’s Green Investment Plan, anticipating an investment of Rs 80,000 crore over the next five years. The agreement encompasses the development of up to 1 million tonnes per annum capacity for green hydrogen and derivatives, along with 2 GW pump hydro projects and up to 5 GW of renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. NGEL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, is set to contribute significantly to the green energy landscape.
