The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) plans to make its upgraded Parivesh 2.0 portal the default online platform for all proposals awaiting environment and forest clearances. Parivesh 2.0 aims to enhance transparency, incorporating features like mapping employees to project proposals, integrated GIS clearance, and a payment gateway. This move comes after over 12,000 proposals seeking forest clearance were stuck in limbo due to technical limitations of Parivesh 1.0. The new guidelines state that proposals on Parivesh 1.0 will automatically migrate to Parivesh 2.0 after the specified 150-day duration for processing.
