Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has categorically dismissed the possibility of privatizing Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), citing the company’s robust profits. Despite the government’s initial plan to sell its stake in BPCL, Puri emphasized BPCL’s substantial revenue generation, indicating no immediate privatisation. Additionally, he underscored the potential inclusion of petrol and diesel under the GST regime in the future. Meanwhile, other economic ministers, including Piyush Goyal and Jyotiraditya Scindia, took charge, focusing on key sectors such as commerce, communications, and power generation.
