Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the opening of ‘Sudarshan Setu,’ a 2.32 km cable-stayed bridge over the Arabian Sea, linking Beyt Dwarka island to Okha in Gujarat. The four-lane bridge, costing ₹979 crore, features unique design elements like footpaths adorned with verses from Srimad Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna. Formerly known as the ‘Signature Bridge,’ it now facilitates year-round travel between Beyt Dwarka and the mainland, offering devotees easier access to the Lord Sri Krishna temple. PM Modi initiated the day with prayers at the temple before the bridge inauguration.
