The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has suggested supplying aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel to all current and future airports through open-access pipelines, aiming to boost competition and reduce fuel expenses. PNGRB invites feedback from the public, oil marketing companies, airport operators, and airline operators for the development of ATF pipelines. Currently, jet fuel is primarily transported by road and rail, limiting pipeline access to a few airports. PNGRB believes this move will bring down air travel costs and enhance industry competitiveness by leveraging the cost-effective nature of pipeline transportation.
