Qatar Airways Cargo introduced its advanced animal center, alongside the relaunch of its “Next Generation Live” service, setting new benchmarks in live animal transportation. With over 550,000 animals transported, including 10,000 horses in 2023, the facility spans 5,260 sq m and offers temperature-controlled zones for optimal comfort. Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo, emphasized a commitment to animal welfare. The center features 140 dog kennels, 40 cat kennels, and 24 horse stables with separate airflows. Equipped with sophisticated HVAC systems, it caters to diverse animals like birds, reptiles, and exotic species. Enhanced customer service includes a kennel calculator for compliance with IATA Live Animals Regulations. The center prioritizes staff proficiency with a digitalized training facility and ensures efficient operations with airside and landside interfaces.
