Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) reported a leak of highly radioactive water from a treatment machine at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Approximately 5.5 metric tonnes of radioactive water, exceeding the legally releasable limit by 10 times, leaked through an air vent during maintenance work on the SARRY treatment machine. The leak was discovered by a plant worker during valve checks, and TEPCO stated that the radiation monitoring showed no impact on the external environment. This incident follows a previous accidental leak at a separate treatment facility in recent months.
