A Uttar Pradesh Congress leader confirmed on March 6 that Rahul Gandhi will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Amethi, a constituency he has represented since 2002. Pradeep Singhal, the Congress district president, announced Gandhi’s candidacy after a meeting in Delhi, stating that his name will be officially announced soon. Despite losing to BJP’s Smriti Irani in the 2019 general election, Gandhi has maintained a strong association with Amethi, having previously served as its Member of Parliament until 2019, when he won from Kerala’s Wayanad.
