Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), revealed the company’s ambitious new energy business plans aimed at achieving net carbon zero by 2035. The plans encompass the establishment of a battery giga factory, green hydrogen production, and substantial solar and wind power generation. The battery giga factory, to be set up by 2026, will cover manufacturing of battery chemicals, cells, packs, and storage solutions, along with a recycling facility. RIL also aims for 100 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and intends to deploy Rs 75,000 crore to build its new energy manufacturing ecosystem. Additionally, RIL plans to establish 100 compressed biogas plants and launch Jio AirFibre offering high-speed internet through 5G technology.
