Amid sanctions uncertainty, a ship affiliated with Russian shipping giant Sovcomflot (SCF) discharged fuel oil at a western Indian port, signaling a resumption in Moscow’s oil supply to India. The SCF Baltica, carrying 90,000 metric tons of fuel oil for Reliance Industries, docked at Gujarat’s Jamnagar port. Indian refiners had become cautious following U.S. sanctions on SCF, but recent remarks from U.S. officials eased concerns. The SCF Baltica, not among the sanctioned vessels, marks the renewed flow of Russian oil to India, the largest consumer of Russian seaborne oil.
