The Shapoorji Pallonji Group has announced the sale of its Gopalpur Port in Odisha to Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd for Rs 3,350 crore, as part of its strategy to reduce debt through asset monetization. Acquired in 2017, the port currently handles 20 MTPA and recently partnered with Petronet LNG for a greenfield LNG regasification terminal. This sale follows the divestment of Dharamtar Port in Maharashtra earlier this year. These strategic moves demonstrate the group’s ability to create value and reduce debt while capitalizing on core strengths in project development and construction.
