Cricket legend Sir Geoffrey Boycott, 83, has been diagnosed with throat cancer for the second time. He will undergo surgery in two weeks. Boycott, who previously battled the disease in 2002 with extensive chemotherapy, revealed the diagnosis following several scans and biopsies. Despite the daunting news, Boycott remains hopeful, stating he will “just get on with it and hope for the best.” The former England opener scored 8,114 runs in 108 Tests and retired in 1982. He later had a successful career as a BBC commentator before stepping down in 2020.
