State-owned SJVN Ltd has achieved a milestone by concluding India’s first-ever e-reverse auction for the selection of renewable energy developers for 1,500 MW power projects with energy storage. Serving as a Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA), SJVN conducted the auction to supply power from interstate transmission system-connected renewable projects. The process attracted nine companies, with seven of them securing their quoted capacity at a tariff of around Rs 4.38 per unit. Successful bidders include ACME, JUNIPER, and Tata Power. SJVN’s role as an intermediary procurer and REIA aligns with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s roadmap to achieve 500 GW of RE projects by 2030.
