Japanese media giant Sony has reportedly filed a case against Zee Entertainment in a Singapore court, alleging a breach of the merger pact. The move comes after Sony called off the $10 billion merger with Zee Entertainment, citing unmet “closing conditions” and an inability to agree on an extension by the January 21 deadline. Zee is expected to counter Sony’s claims in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and the dispute includes Sony’s demand for a $90 million termination fee from Zee. The merger faced challenges, including a leadership dispute and regulatory concerns.
