Automaker Stellantis is providing voluntary buyouts to 6,400 U.S. salaried employees, approximately half of its non-unionized workforce. This move is part of the company’s cost-cutting measures during the shift to electric vehicles. Employees opting for the voluntary departure package, available to those with at least five years of experience, are expected to leave by the end of December. Stellantis had previously offered exit packages to 33,500 U.S. employees in April, covering both hourly and salaried workers. The company aims to enhance efficiency as it prepares for the EV transition and addresses the financial impact of recent strikes.
