In the ongoing conflict between Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, more than 20 civilians were killed when shells struck a market in Omdurman, a suburb of Khartoum. This latest violence is part of the ongoing fighting since April. The clashes have spread beyond the capital and Darfur, reaching areas south of Khartoum. The conflict has already claimed over 10,000 lives, with the true toll likely higher due to underreporting. The war has displaced around 5.5 million people, both within Sudan and across its borders, according to the United Nations.
