Tata Motors’ Punch and Nexon EVs have become the first electric vehicles (EVs) to achieve a five-star safety rating under India’s Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The Punch.ev set a record score of 31.46/32 for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 for child occupant protection (COP), while the Nexon.ev scored 29.86/32 for AOP and 44.95/49 for COP. These ratings underscore Tata’s commitment to vehicle safety and align with India’s vision for safer automobiles, enhancing the country’s global automotive competitiveness.
