The inaugural launch of Agnikul Cosmos Private Limited’s Agnibaan rocket from India’s first privately-owned launchpad has been postponed due to a technical glitch. Scheduled for Friday, the Sub Orbital Technology Demonstrator (SOrTeD) aimed to test the company’s capabilities in launching custom vehicles for small satellites. The delay comes amidst rising demand for small satellite launches, with Agnikul focusing on on-demand services. The start-up, backed by $41 million in funding, aims to tap into a growing market projected to reach $9 billion by 2030, primarily driven by communication and earth observation applications.
