Israel has recently approved its largest land seizure in over three decades in the occupied West Bank, totaling 12.7 square kilometers in the Jordan Valley. This move, sanctioned late last month and made public recently, marks a significant escalation amidst ongoing tensions linked to the Gaza conflict. Peace Now, an anti-settlement watchdog, reported that this is the largest appropriation since the 1993 Oslo accords. The seized land, declared state property, can now be leased to Israelis, barring private Palestinian ownership.
