West Bengal’s Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Udayan Guha’s convoy was reportedly attacked in Cooch Behar, with TMC alleging the involvement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters, particularly targeting Union Minister Nisith Pramanik. Guha accused Pramanik of signaling the attack, claiming similar incidents in the region. With Lok Sabha elections approaching, tensions escalate between the TMC and BJP, the former aiming to defend its majority against the BJP’s growing influence in the state. In the 2019 elections, TMC secured 22 seats, while BJP won 18 out of 42 parliamentary seats.
