Freight rates remained stable on major trucking routes in March, except for a slight increase on the Guwahati-Mumbai round trip. However, routes like Delhi-Kolkata experienced a marginal decline. Despite this, overall vehicle retail sales in India grew by 4.81% month-on-month, with three-wheelers leading the surge. Stable truck rentals were attributed to year-end corporate rushes and consistent cargo demand. Fuel prices dipped slightly from February to March, positively impacting the sector. Commercial vehicle registrations increased by 3.31% compared to February, although they fell by 5.87% year-on-year. Three-wheeler registrations notably rose, while passenger vehicle registrations saw a slight decrease.
