The United Democratic Front (UDF) has abandoned plans to table a no-confidence motion against K.C. Vasanthi Vijayan, the Congress member serving as panchayat president in Mavoor, Kozhikode district. Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) efforts facilitated a consensus, allowing Vijayan to retain her position until August. Subsequently, Razak Valappil, newly elected through a by-election, will assume the presidency. Earlier, an agreement stipulated rotational presidency among RMPI, IUML, and Congress.
