Varasala Srinivasa Rao, a member of the Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Committee and vice-president of the recognized union (AITUC) of Visakhapatnam Steel, called upon NDA leaders, including N. Chandrababu Naidu, K. Pawan Kalyan, and Narendra Modi, to ensure representation from Andhra Pradesh in the Union Ministry of Steel. Rao emphasized that appointing a leader from Andhra Pradesh would facilitate tackling the challenges facing Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and strengthen efforts to resist its privatization. He suggested that Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, with his parliamentary experience and recent re-election for the third term, would be a fitting choice for the position.
