The US military has launched attacks on radar sites controlled by Yemen’s Houthi rebels in response to recent assaults on shipping in the Red Sea. The strikes targeted seven radar installations used by the Houthis to target maritime vessels, alongside destroying two bomb-laden drone boats and a Houthi-launched drone. These actions follow a Houthi drone boat attack on the Liberian-flagged cargo ship Tutor, which resulted in one crew member missing and the vessel taking on water. The Houthis, who control Yemen’s capital, have been accused of endangering international shipping despite claiming their actions are aimed at influencing the Gaza conflict.
