E-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart experienced a surge in customer visits during their festive sales. Amazon India reported its biggest-ever 48 hours of shopping with a record 9.5 crore customer visits, and Prime members’ shopping increased 18 times in the first 24 hours. Flipkart’s The Big Billion Days 2023 saw over 91 million customer visits, including Plus Premium and VIP customers, during early access and Day 1 of the shopping festival. Flipkart also observed substantial growth in the Plus Visitor base with a 7X increase in orders over daily transactions. Categories such as mobiles, appliances, lifestyle, BGM (beauty and general merchandise), electronics, and home experienced high demand among customers.
