The India Patent Office has awarded a patent to scientists at BLDE Deemed-to-be-University’s B.M. Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Center for their creation of a ‘Novel Foldable Artificial Leg’. The intellectual property certificate was issued to a team consisting of two doctors and an engineer: Ishwara Bagoji, Girish Khodnapur, and K. C. Mohanty. This groundbreaking artificial limb features locking and unlocking technology, a first in the field. Initially showcased in 2020, the invention marks a significant advancement. University Chancellor and Minister M.B. Patil, along with other officials, congratulated the team on their achievement.
