The VOC Port Authority in Tuticorin has inked a 30-year concession agreement with JSW Tuticorin Multipurpose Terminal Private Limited for the mechanisation of north cargo Berth-III (NCB-III). This Rs 265 crore project aims to enhance handling capacity for dry bulk cargo, accommodating Post-Panamax size vessels up to 80,000 tonnes. Scheduled for completion by December 2026, the terminal will handle commodities like coal, limestone, gypsum, and rock phosphate, boosting regional economic development and creating around 500 direct and indirect job opportunities.
